II Samuel 11:1-4

In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab with his officers and all Israel with him; they ravaged the Ammonites, and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. It happened, late one afternoon, when David rose from his couch and was walking about on the roof of the king’s house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; the woman was very beautiful. David sent someone to inquire about the woman. It was reported, “This is Bathsheba daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” So David sent messengers to get her, and she came to him, and he lay with her. (Now she was purifying herself after her period.) Then she returned to her house.

1 Kings 21:25-26

Indeed, there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the LORD, urged on by his wife Jezebel. He acted most abominably in going after idols, as the Amorites had done, whom the LORD drove out before the Israelites.

Make plans to join us this Saturday, Feb. 11, when the Youth Choir hosts “Boots & BBQ.” It will be an evening of country songs and barbecue.  All proceeds will benefit the annual choir tour.  Tickets are $10.

Lenten Sermon Series: Who is This Man?

Join us beginning February 26, as we strip away layers of perception and misperception, and get to know Jesus as he was seen by his earliest biographer – Luke. Luke’s account of Jesus’ life was based upon eyewitness accounts of those who actually knew Jesus when he walked on this earth. You may be surprised by the portrait of Jesus that emerges as we seek to answer the question, Who Is This Man?

II Kings 23: 25

Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; nor did any like him arise after him.

Please remember as we share a communion meal together this Sunday that we also bring food to share with others. All food donations are brought to the Wilkinson Center to help stock their food pantry.
